                 Summer Kickoff Carnival

Bright Beginnings Preschool will hold the 2010 Summer Kickoff Carnival at 5 p.m., Tuesday, May 25, on the church grounds.

The carnival will begin an annual fundraising event for the preschool, with funds this year being reserved to upgrade our church playground.

In addition to inflatable castles and slides, face painting, musical entertainment, a cake walk, and a visit from “Gertie The Clown,” the carnival will also feature a headliner performance by Christian Illusionist Curt Anderson, a 30-year veteran performer, who uses a blend of humor,  illusion  and a clear message of the Gospel in all of his shows. The event will also feature a variety of treats, including hamburgers, hot dogs, cotton candy, snow cones, ice cream, popcorn and more.

Tickets are $15 each, or $50 for an immediate family, and includes all food items, activities and admission to Curt Anderson’s show. Please reserve tickets in advance by calling Pam Kreamer at (251) 981-6750.

Bright Beginnings Preschool is a wonderful blessing to this church and the Orange Beach community. This Ministry serves over 35 families with a staff of eight wonderfully trained and loving teachers. Pam, a member of OBUMC, has served as director of Orange Beach’s new preschool ministry, since its inception last year.  She is also an active volunteer within the church’s children’s ministry.

Having attended Columbus University in Columbus, Georgia, Pam received her Bachelors Degree in Business Management in1989. Before to moving to Orange Beach in 2005, she and her husband, Bill, lived in McDonough, GA for 15 years where they owned and operated two retail businesses. Also while living in McDonough, Pam and Bill were members of Jonesboro United Methodist Church in which she worked as a preschool teacher, and in many volunteer capacities within the church and its preschool. Pam and Bill have three children, Madi, John and Peter

Pam’s best life lesson thus far is this: “I continually strive for a spiritual maturity and to know God and his will for me. My biggest discovery is that as I pray for virtues such as courage, knowledge, strength, patience etc, rather than just making me braver, smarter, stronger and more patient (which would be so much easier) God, being the great provider and -sometimes demonstrating His sense of humor along the way- constantly (and I’m sure lovingly) provides situations for me to use these virtues, thereby growing these virtues within me one grueling opportunity at a time! As I open myself to follow His lead, I find that the more dependant I am on God and His guidance, the more things I am able to accomplish. My plan for myself usually involves the path of least resistance, however when I talk to God, he always reminds me “…I know the plans I have for you…to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future….you will call on me and pray to me and I will listen to you”  (Jeremiah 29:11-13)  As a good parent, He does listen to what I have to say, then He just goes on about working out His plan for me!
