OIL SPILL CARE-GIVERS

Oil Spill Care-Givers is a multi-layered ministry service of Orange Beach United Methodist Church in Orange Beach, Alabama for the communities of Orange Beach and Gulf Shores.  Our goal in this ministry service is to act our vision as a church to our community by being Christ’s light in Orange Beach.

Active Listening  The care-giving we provide as Christ’s light to the community takes form in three primary ways.  First, we are uniquely suited to provide a safe, confidential environment for people to vent and express their feelings and needs.  This service is provided by trained ministry care-givers and pastoral staff at no cost.  The service is available at any time to fit the schedule of persons seeking care and active-listening support and utilizes local care-givers who are intimately acquainted with the nature of the crisis our communities face.

Targeted Financial Gifts  The second way that we can offer care is to assist some of the financial needs of people whose lives have been impacted by the oil spill crisis.  Due to targeted gifts from individuals, our church is able to assist people, following established guidelines for mission giving in our church.

Food Pantry Ministry  Because of the oil spill crisis’ impact on family finances in our community, we are led to provide the most basic kind of support with food for people.

Please join us in reaching this community as Christ’s Light in Orange Beach by being a participant in giving to support this ministry service.  Any financial gifts designated for “Oil Spill Care Givers” will be utilized to reach people in our community. For Assistance or to give, Oil Spill Care-Givers at Orange Beach United Methodist Church can be contacted for immediate assistance to community members by calling Karen Fleming at 981-6751.
