Jan came on staff in February 2008, she serves our church in the capacity of Financial Secretary.  In addition to her financial experience she come to us with a background in office administration and guest services.  And of course lots of experience in church ministries. Church related ministry experience  includes children, youth, senior adult, camp ministry and she says that she can play the piano a little bit too.

Family Ministries.
             Prior to coming to Orange Beach UMC she worked for the Ono Island POA as office manager.  She also gained experience in guest services as she worked alongside her husband Mitch who served as the director of the Marshall Baptist Retreat Center in Guntersville, AL  from 1993 to 2000.

Jan was born and raised in Louisiana.  She attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with course study in Religious Education.  Jan and her husband Mitch have been in full time ministry for 20 plus years.  Mitch serves as the Senior Pastor of Bethel Baptist Church in Robertsdale, AL.

Jesus became Jan’s Lord and Savior when she was 12 years old.  As a shy girl she never imagined that God would choose to use her in the areas that He has chosen.  Because of her shyness Philippians 4:13 has been the scripture she has clung to:  “I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.”

Jan and her husband Mitch have one son, Chris who is a middle school teach and bi-vocational pastor.  Chris is married to Keisha and they have 3 children: Christopher, Conner and Ella Rose.
