It seems as if I have been involved in music since some of my earliest memories. My father being a band teacher made it quite important for me to be involved at a very early age. Music for me started with piano lessons and singing in the Northport Baptist Youth Choir in Elementary School. Dr. John Hinton, our music minister, was also assistant superintendent for the Tuscaloosa County Schools and was a great influence on my life.
While in college at Auburn I attended several different churches. After college I attended Cedar Creek Church of the Brethren in Citronelle, Alabama where my grandparents went to church. Upon accepting a position in Brewton, Alabama I attended the Brewton United Methodist Church where I sang in the church choir. After moving back to Tuscaloosa I found a church home in the First Presbyterian Church of Tuscaloosa.
I have always felt a calling to reach out to others. That is one of the main reasons I am a teacher. I also believe that music has a way of touching people on a level that words cannot. I consider it to be an honor to share with the families of Orange Beach United Methodist the talents in which God has blessed me.
Outside of church I serve as the band director at Gulf Shores High School and assist all of the bands in the Island School Feeder Pattern. I live my wife Ashley in Gulf Shores.
